Contact Me

I approach therapy with a simple question:

"What do you want out of life, and what is holding you back from that?"

This question, and your answers, is where we begin the journey. I look forward to hearing from you.

02. Counseling

How do I know you're the right counselor for me?

Choosing a good counselor for you can be hard work.  I’ve compiled some tips for finding the right fit.  I love helping people find their voice, increase their self-confidence, and let go of shame.  I specialize in relational trauma, sexual abuse, and codependency.

I see adults only.  If you would like a referral for a youth, I’d be happy to help you find a good fit with another therapist.  My blog post What Actually Happens in Therapy? includes several referral options.

Find details about group opportunities here.

03. What to Expect

What can I expect when I call or email?
  • Share briefly why you are seeking counseling
  • Ask any questions you have about the process
  • Schedule an appointment
  • Complete intake paperwork in a secure client portal online
  • Show up for your first session
What can I expect at the first session?
  • Make yourself comfortable in the waiting room and I will meet you there at our session time
  • We will meet in my office, where you can share more about the circumstances leading to your desire for counseling and we will begin to make a treatment plan to address those issues
  • You can bring payment in the form of cash, check, or credit/debit card
  • Schedule your next appointment
What can I expect during ongoing counseling sessions?

During the therapy process, please ask questions and share feedback at any time about what is working for you and what is not working for you.  My priority is to ensure that counseling is meeting your needs to the fullest extent possible.

04. Payment

What payment options do you accept?

I accept self-pay via cash, check, or credit/debit/HSA card.  This allows you to avoid the hassles of going through insurance, as well as receive treatment without needing a mental health diagnosis. My standard fee is $175 per individual session.  Group sessions are $75 per session.

You can choose self-pay or insurance (see below for insurance options).

05. Insurance

Do you accept insurance?

If you would like to use insurance, call your insurance to verify your benefits and which company carries your mental health benefits (sometimes it’s different than your medical health coverage).  I am on the panels of a few insurance companies: Aetna, United, and Optum/VACCN.  I am out-of-network with Blue Cross, Cigna and Tricare.  If you want to use out of network benefits, you will pay the self-pay rate at time of service and then submit a superbill to get reimbursed by your insurance according to your out-of-network benefits.

06. Clients

How do I get to the client portal?

You can sign into the client portal anytime with this link:

You can also update information, view and pay invoices, etc.

After you click on the link above, as a security measure, you will have to sign into the client portal through a link sent to your email.
