I approach therapy with a simple question:

"What do you want out of life, and what is holding you back from that?"

This question, and your answers, is where we begin the journey. I look forward to hearing from you.

Self-Confidence

Confidence is believing in yourself, feeling comfortable in your true-self, knowing you have worth.

When being yourself is incredibly uncomfortable.

The Hurt

You experience anxiety related to being yourself or speaking up with others.  You identify as a people-pleaser.  You avoid conflict or creating waves.  You find you are usually playing the role of mediator, rescuer, or helper in your relationships.

It doesn't have to stay this way. You can maintain your strength as an empathetic, caring person, while also feeling more confident and in control of your life.

The Healing

Whether these patterns come as the result of being raised by emotionally-immature parents, mentally ill or narcissistic parents, or personality traits, you can grow and develop confidence, healthy relationships, healthy boundaries, a strong sense of self, and assertiveness.  You can be happy with who you are and able to share that with others.  I would love to be a part of your journey.

You can get started with the book The Assertiveness Guide for Women: How to Communicate Your Needs, Set Healthy Boundaries & Transform Your Relationships by Julie de Azevedo Hanks, PhD
